MARCH 22, 2009 - STATE MEET RESULTS POSTED
President Mike Srock's first State Meet drew unprecedented numbers as over 573 athletes participated in the 2009 meet. There were a few corrections made on the official scoresheets after the meet was over and results could be viewed. They are fixed on the scoresheets.
To point out to some who may not know, in order for a "best of class" or state record to be set by a lifter, the lifter must have a successful attempt in each and every facet of competition. This means that if said lifter did not have a successful broad jump, they are taken out of scoring contention and thus, any records set by said lifter will not count. Also, if there is a tie in total points, the lifter with the LOWEST bodyweight wins the tie.

If you see a typo or mistake, please send me an email so I can fix it!

THE MOST CONFUSING RULE INTERPRETATION......SQUAT
At the January meeting, a new interpretation of the squat rules was read and changed in the constitution. The main focus was on the term "parallel" and how it is to be interpreted by coaches and judges. The new interpretation of a parallel squat now reads as:
"All
squats must be at least parallel.
Parallel will be determined
by the line of sight from the middle of an athlete's hip joint to the middle
(hinge point) of the athlete's knee."
