Official Scoring Software
Here, you will be able to download the program that I made for last years meet. First, though, I want
to take you on a little tour of how to best use this program. Also, I spent many long hours working
on this, and I am offering this to you all for free. All I ask is that you don't change the programming. Some
of the formulas you see are extremely long and complicated. On for the directions:
1. You must have Excel installed on your system to use.
2. After downloading, I suggest you also make a copy of it on disk in case something happens
3. Start the program. Be sure to ENABLE MACROS. Trust me, there are no viruses on this program!
4. All instructions and weight classes are located on the tabs at the bottom of the workbook
5. Once the weight class you want is up and running, you will notice some special items.
a. In the uppermost left corner, their is a peach colored cell. Please do not input anything here.
b. The minimums for each event are listed above the events. This is for your record.
c. It is up to you, while inputting numbers to determine if the amount/time is a legal one.
d. Enter in the athlete's name, and school, and exact weight (with decimal).
e. You'll see points and places already being assigned...don't worry about this, as they will change when event
numbers are inputted.
f. Ties are automatically broken by the program...EXCEPT - when both athletes have the exact same
bodyweight, then you must break tie by hand.
6. All other instructions are located on the bottom of the main form.
7. Remember to save the file after each input. All weight classes and such are located on one file. Do not think
you are to save each weight class under a different name.
Below is the actual scoring from last year's State Meet in the 236+. It will show you what the program looks like with data inputted, and also how places are determined as well as what happens on a bad lift and a non-qualifying lift.
Good Luck...email me if you have any questions.
